Until you close the app and lock your device and try again from there. Also the menu formatting is garbage. It looks like it’s from 2003 and it shows me the channels they want me to watch before showing the channels I actually DO watch. Please fire whoever developed this app. They deserve it. The live TV app I was reduced to downloading didn't have anything in English and pika TV doesn't have anything like VH1 or MTV. I'm glad theres a tablet for Microsoft office because I am in school majoring in business but if I knew the store would be so scarce I may have opted for the iPad. This surface was the biggest waste of money - it is completely useless - I cannot use Google Chrome, I cannot use Dropbox where ALL my files are - and now I cannot watch a baseball game through Optimum App on here because it won't run on this useless piece of ****. What can I do with it? Maybe it will work as a door stop? The optimum app doesn't exist because the company who makes it decided not to make one.

FWIW: all my boxes are connected with HDMI cables and some forums said this doesn’t let the volume work on the app’s remote. That information is not correct. It works with HDMI. I think the older set top boxes were the problem. The updated Samsung boxes allow me to use the remote feature to increase, decrease volume now.

With all the money we are paying for cable, and now hoping to be able to see one tv peograms to go, when one logged into optimum to watch their news or whatever from the menu why am I am being told that I am now being taken from optimum into the app for the news or fox or whatever their network is which means now I have to down their app and then subscribe to their network.

There is no improvement in the app's reception so we can't blame the wifi. It's just a really bad product. It's been happening for several years now. Why can't the engineers at Optimum correct this?

My experience comes with the 6 and my friends iPad when we watch on the tv outside. The only television that I watch is sports. When we use the iPad, we’re on his homes WiFi and when I watch on my phone, I am always on my home WiFi. So there’s nothing that should be to blame other than the app.
