This means that you can now choose whether to open and save all images in the Pixelmator file format or in their original file format. Improvements The Effects Browser improvements let you search, preview, and apply effects even more quickly: • Quickly open highlighted effects by simply pressing the Return key on your keyboard. • Each effect has more keywords, so that you can find effects more quickly. • The Effects Browser’s thumbnails preview has been improved, so you can get a better idea of what an effect will look like when applied. • Better organization of third-party effects. You can now clearly see the line separating built-in effects and third-party effects. • Third-party effects now have a tooltip so that you can view the entire title for an effect.
Of course, nobody forced me to buy it and it doesn't claim to have noise reduction in the description. But it also doesn't claim to have exposure adjustments or contrast or shadows and highlights. For the same reasons car ads don't say they come with steering wheels. It's just expected, as shoud noise reduction be in a 'Pro' app. Developer Response As tough as a review that is, it's not entirely unfair — as you said, we don't claim to have noise removal, but it's a great feature to have.
• Undoing an image size change while being fully zoomed out would make it impossible to change the zoom level. • Undoing an image size change in documents with text would sometimes break the layout of the text. • When using the Crop tool in images containing areas beyond the canvas, those areas would not be displayed correctly. • Writing and deleting text with the Stroke layer style applied would temporarily leave parts of the deleted text in the image. • When performing many repeated actions in a row, thumbnails would not always update immediately. • Added a few fixes related to SVG rendering during import and export. • Fixed an issue with using the Retouch and Paint tools in large documents that would sometimes cause Pixelmator Pro to quit unexpectedly.

Most consumers will just fine with cheaper version of Pixelmator. It will do everything you need it to do without spending $60. UPDATE: AUGUST 1ST 2018. When I try to open in Pixelmator Pro to edit them it tell me either the file is damage or the file is not compatible with Pixelmator. Almost a year the camera has been out and Apple’s version high “photoshop” can hang with a PRO CAMERA.FAIL!
Because it’s designed specifically for Mac users, Pixelmator works with Mac apps like Photos and can even be launched from that app. Edits are saved directly back to your library in Photos. Pixelmator also works with nearly every major macOS feature – it’s the ultimate Mac app.
Developer Response I'm sorry to hear you've had such a frustrating time with Pixelmator Pro. On the whole, we've fixed almost all of the bugs reported to us and a few more that we've found ourselves.
• When hovering over an effect name in the Effects Browser, the correct name and shortcut is shown in the tooltip. • In OS X 10.11.2, the corners of several effects thumbnails were filled with random colors. We fixed them. • The app used to quit unexpectedly when using the Gradient Tool on OS X 10.9.5. We fixed this. Other recent improvements: • Full OS X El Capitan support. • Pixelmator Photos Extension with Metal-based Distort tools.
The pixels in the layer appear to be completely gone. After letting this app collect dust I gave it a chance again. Within minutes I had a vanishing layer. On an aside, even if the app worked flawlessly, the fact that that UI moves around constantly (grows/shrinks depending on chosen tool) means I can’t use this app without feeling a disoriented motion sickness.
• When using the Fill layer style on very small layers, the fill would sometimes disappear. • Several improvements fix flickering and positioning issues when editing shapes. • The canvas would sometimes jump after resetting changes made with the Crop tool.
Now they are pixel-perfect. • When refining a selection with the Clone Stamp Tool selected, parts of the red selection overlay that marks the non-selected area would sometimes disappear. We fixed this. • When a text layer was used as an overlay for a clipping mask, converting it into a pixel layer would cause the text to disappear.

So, it turned out that there was a firmware update for my camera for it to be compatible for my mac and RAW images.
