Do you use Outlook 2016 instead of Apple Mail? I have to say that I own Office 2016 with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Outlook. I read on German message boards that there are some Mac users who prefer to use Outlook. The most exciting thing is that Microsoft advertises Outlook with the words: 'We speak Gmail'. And I do remember that the previous version of Outlook had some problems with Gmail accounts and Apple Mail before OSX 'El Capitan' either (there was a bug with the Gmail trash). Currently I am using Outlook just with my Hotmail account, but somehow it looks awesome.

Imported items, including accounts, email messages, contacts, calendar items, tasks, notes, categories, rules, and signatures, appear in the same location as they did in Outlook for Mac 2011.

To change an account from POP to IMAP or vice versa, simply add a new account for the email address as described below and select the desired connection type. Outlook 2016 will allow you to have multiple accounts for the same email address, so an account for sample@example.com using IMAP can coexist with an account for sample@example.com using POP. To prevent data loss, do not delete the existing account before adding a new one. Step #2: Configuring a New Email Account On the account information panel, enter the information as follows. At first, you will only see the E-mail address and Password fields.

Or is there somewhere else? I went to mail.office365.com and tried to login with the email I used to sign up for Office 365 however it says: 'Something went wrong. You're currently signed in with a Microsoft account as myemail@hotmail.com, but that account can't be used with Outlook. Please sign out of your Microsoft account, then sign in to Outlook with the account you use to read your organization's email.'

I tried the suggestions in the link but did not have any luck. I appreciate your help in trying to figure this out.

Open the HTML file in Google Chrome or Firefox rather then Safari to avoid formatting issue. When the Email Signature is open in the web browser, press Command + A to highlight the signature, then press Command + C to copy the signature. Note: Do not use your mouse to select the area, only use Command + A in case you miss out on grabbing some of the code. Go to Outlook for Mac > Preferences > Signatures, add a new signature, right click the new signature windows, Paste, select keep source formatting.

If the auto-detect process is successful, the ticket is populated on the account's Kerberos ID pop-up menu. If the auto-detect process does not include a successful Kerberos authentication, the account's Kerberos setting will be disabled and Kerberos ID pop-up menu is set to None. To create a new Kerberos ID, choose the Create a new Kerberos ID link. Provide the user name and password of the new Kerberos ID when prompted. If the Remember password in keychain checkbox is selected, the provided credentials will be cached in the keychain and will be used to renew the ticket 15 minutes before it expires. Kerberos authentication for administrators Kerberos authentication might fail if the account's primary mailbox server does not support Kerberos protocol or if the KDC fails. To ensure that users are authenticated successfully by using Kerberos protocol, you should make sure that the KDC is up and running for users to access the different network services.

However, it does not allow you to have individual folders. You would only have the INBOX for all of your email.

If additional fields populate once you've entered your email address, the account must be configured manually. We recommend setting up a secure connection to the mail server by using the Private (with SSL) settings, which can be found on the Email Configuration Settings page in your control panel, so keep that page nearby!

Use Kerberos authentication with Outlook 2016 for Mac • 7/19/2018 • 4 minutes to read • Contributors • In this article Outlook 2016 for Mac supports Kerberos protocol as a method of authentication with Microsoft Exchange Server and standalone LDAP accounts. Kerberos protocol uses cryptography to help provide secure mutual authentication for a network connection between a client and a server, or between two servers. Kerberos protocol is based on ticketing. In this scheme, a client must provide a valid user name and password only once to prove their identity to an authentication server. Then, the authentication server grants the client strongly encrypted tickets that include client information and the session key that expires after a specified period of time.

In enterprise and mission-critical environments, it's important for administrators to create at least one failover KDC. When Kerberos authentication fails, Outlook for Mac provides the option of using the other supported authentication mechanisms. The types of authentication methods that are available for Microsoft Exchange e-mail accounts can vary depending on whether authentication is performed on a front-end server or on a back-end server.

You actually have a few options. You can use POP3 as the email protocol and then make sure that the server does not save a copy on the server.

In Outlook for Mac, you do not have control over the type of authentication methods that users choose. You should ask your users to choose Kerberos authentication if your organization's Exchange server uses it and their computers are connected to the corporate network. When you set up your Exchange account in Outlook for Mac, you must click Kerberos on the Method pop-up menu, or for all other types of authentication, click User Name and Password. When you choose the Kerberos authentication method, the User Name (which includes the domain) and Password fields are hidden. When Kerberos protocol is enabled, it is used to attempt authentication against all of the servers related to the account, such as HTTP or LDAP. When Kerberos protocol is disabled in the account settings, Kerberos authentication will not be attempted against any of the servers related to the account.
